With all the rain we have had this summer in the UK, allotments and vegetable gardens are looking green and abundant and harvests are plentiful. It'll soon be time for warming soups and stews, making jams and pickles, and proudly showing off your produce at shows or on Instagram.
As the nights begin to draw in, what better time of year to knit yourself a cowl overflowing with rooty veg to keep your neck warm.
Parsnips and carrots is a fun cowl in stranded knitting worked in the round and edged with k2, p2 rib. There are two sizes and two colour options. With the background in a dark shade and paler motifs, you have parsnips. Choose a pale colour for the background with dark motifs, you have carrots.
